What to do during an internet outage or till fault in EET 2.0

An internet outage or till fault does not automatically close the business. Restore operation and submit the data afterwards within the statutory deadline.

Business can continue An outage does not require closure.
Within 48 hours Send data after connectivity returns.
POK is confirmation It is not an offline mode or a required stored record.

When the internet fails

Continue trading and send the data without undue delay after connectivity returns, no later than 48 hours after the sale. Suitable software retries automatically until it receives POK.

Must I close the premises?

No. Take all reasonable steps to restore recording as quickly as possible.

Till-device fault

  1. 1

    Record the sales

Note the data needed for later submission.

  2. 2

    Repair the fault

Contact the supplier or service promptly.

  3. 3

    Keep evidence

A service report or outage confirmation may help during an inspection.

  4. 4

    Submit afterwards

Normally each sale is submitted separately; a summary is exceptional and requires agreement with the tax administrator.

What is POK?

POK confirms receipt of the data message and formal checks. It is not an offline mode and does not have to be stored or printed. If no confirmation arrives, the device may resend the message.

What if a sale is sent twice?

If the basic data fields match, the system marks the new message as a duplicate and excludes it from totals. A difference in any basic field may make it a separate sale.

Cancellation and correction

Send an incorrect or refunded sale as a negative amount. This also covers returned goods, complaints, an accidental record and a non-cash payment that ultimately failed. The cancellation is not technically linked to the original message.

How to prepare

  • stable internet and optional backup mobile data
  • software with automatic queued sending
  • staff trained in the outage procedure
  • support contact ready
  • a way to record sales temporarily during a fault

Backup connectivity is a recommendation, not a separate legal duty.
